Warren Buffet on Buying Real Estate

I'm thinking that good ol' Warren knows a bit about managing money and creating wealth. Hhis views of the real estate market are very interesting, and certainly hold-true for La Jolla and San Diego.

$500 for a House in La Jolla!?

Okay, you're not going to find a home for $500 in La Jolla, or probably anywhere in San Diego, but there are still fantastic bargains to be had, county wide.  REOs (Real Estate Owned by banks, usually via foreclosure), and Short Sales are often the best deals, but standard equity sales are great deals these days, as well.

My investor clients are regularly picking up properties that cash-flow immediately, where else can you get returns like the current real estate market is offering!?

Skyrocketing Water Prices and Decreasing Supply, but Renaissance La Jolla Remains Green

Among the myriad benefits of living in Renaissance La Jolla is the area's extensive greenbelts, fountains and ponds.

While many communities are removing or reducing thier landscaping, Renaissance is maintianing and expanding the lushness of it's grounds, due in no small part to the reclaimed water that is used to water the trees and lawn, and fill the ponds and fountains.

The definition of insanity!

I actually spoke with someone this week who has good credit, a solid work history with a good income, quite a bit of liquid savings and a real desire to own his own home, but he "is waiting for interest rates to drop."  Seriously.

He's waiting until "the tide has clearly turned and things are in solid recovery" before he buys.  If he waits until he sees solid recover, he'll have missed the boat, because the evedence he's seeking is the success of others, and by the time he's ready to go, he'll have missed the best opportunites in the market.

If you've been "waiting for the bottom of the market," before making the investment in your own home, I have news for you... look in your rear view mirror to find it. And if you're looking for interest rates to drop further, you'll need a set of magic spectacles in order to see it happen.
